PRIVACY POLICY

Streator Community Credit Union, your member owned financial institution, recognizes the importance of protecting our members? private information. We want to protect the personal and financial information that you have entrusted to us. We believe this privacy policy, will respect and address all personal and financial information specific to you that you provide to the Credit Union through any channel.

Collection and Accuracy of Personal Information

When you apply for a Credit Union account we collect information about you on applications and other forms, and through your transactions with us. Information is obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application; this may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions. Information may be received from a consumer-reporting agency. The Credit Union will exercise reasonable procedures in order to assure the accuracy of our records and your personal information. Inaccurate information, when brought to our attention, will be corrected as quickly as possible. If your have a question regarding the accuracy of your personal information, please contact the Credit Union, we will investigate your issue and make corrections as needed. We request you keep your personal information as current as possible, to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your Credit Union account.

Use and Sharing of Personal Information

The Credit Union will use personal information as appropriate in the normal course of our business to provide the services you requested. We will also use this information to provide positive identification of you when you contact us.

We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties;
  • Financial service providers, such as insurance companies, and mortgage service companies
  • Non-Financial companies, such as consumer reporting agencies, data processors, check printers, plastic card processors, and government agencies.

    We may also disclose nonpublic personal information under circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, to comply with any court order or applicable laws or regulations, or when you give us your written permission. The Credit Union does not and will not sell or provide information to third parties for independent use. We only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information that we provide.

    We restrict access to your information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We will continue to review our procedures and practices to safeguard your information.

    Important information about procedures for opening a new account
     
    To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person  who opens an account.
     
    What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
